The Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), Dr Vetty Agala, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to improving the healthcare indices of residents across Rivers State despite prevailing challenges.

Dr Agala gave the assurance while receiving the leadership of the Rivers State Postgraduate Students’ Union during a courtesy visit to her office.

According to her, the policies and programmes of RIVCHPP are designed to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services to residents in line with Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Health4AllRivers vision.

She noted that the state government has continued to support the agency’s efforts, enabling it to implement people-oriented programmes without interference.

“The governor has graciously allowed us in RIVCHPP to carry out people-oriented programmes without any obstacle,” she stated.

Dr Agala also dedicated her Award of Excellent Performance in Administration, which recognised her contributions to healthcare delivery, health insurance coverage and service to humanity, to the celebration of Governor Fubara’s third anniversary in office.

Speaking during the courtesy visit and award presentation, the President of the Rivers State Postgraduate Students Union, Barr. Chidi Enyie, represented by Echefu Raphael, commended the governor for establishing a health insurance agency that is effectively addressing the healthcare coverage needs of Rivers people.

The union also acknowledged the efforts of RIVCHPP in expanding access to health insurance and improving healthcare services across the state.
