The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commended Dangote Cement Plc for what it described as significant improvements in road safety outcomes following the company’s introduction of enhanced transport safety policies and operational reforms.

The Corps said the company’s initiatives have contributed to a noticeable decline in road crashes involving articulated trucks across Nigeria, positioning Dangote Cement as a benchmark for transport safety management in Africa.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, gave the commendation during a visit to the FRSC Headquarters, noting that data comparing 2025 and 2026 showed marked improvements in safety performance.

According to the FRSC, crashes involving Dangote Cement trucks dropped by 56 per cent, while fatalities reduced by 36 per cent and injuries declined by 52 per cent within the period under review.

Mohammed said the results reflected the effective implementation of the company’s safety strategies, including its internal gap analysis and operational reforms, which he described as worthy of emulation by other logistics operators.

He added that when major industry players prioritise safety, the impact extends beyond their operations to national road safety outcomes.

Dangote Cement’s Head of Transport, Murilo Silva, attributed the improvements to the company’s investment in advanced transport management systems, including automated inspection tools and artificial intelligence-driven solutions aimed at enhancing both efficiency and safety.
