Former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has received a delegation of distinguished Daudus from the traditional ruling houses of Ilorin Emirate, who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence.
The delegation, drawn from various royal houses in the emirate, was said to have visited to express goodwill and appreciation to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Saraki following the emergence of Engr. Kale Kawu is the party’s gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 elections.
Saraki, in his remarks, described the process leading to the emergence of the party’s flagbearer as competitive but ultimately guided by unity and collective interest.

He noted that all aspirants who participated in the contest demonstrated competence, experience, and commitment to public service, adding that their decision to prioritise party cohesion over personal ambition reflected strong statesmanship.
According to him, the development marks a step forward in strengthening internal unity within the PDP as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
He also expressed appreciation to the visiting Daudus for their gesture and acknowledged their role in promoting peace and harmony within the Ilorin Emirate.
Leading the delegation, the Daudu of Bere, Alhaji Ahmad Yusuf Obalohun, spoke on behalf of the group, accompanied by the Daudu of Faagba, Alhaji Ola Sulyman; the Daudu of Gbagede, Alhaji Olayinka Ibrahim; and the Daudu of Ajasa, Alhaji Shuaib Sulyman Bolakale.

The visit underscored continued engagement between political leaders and traditional institutions in fostering unity and political stability within the state.
