Outgoing Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has expressed confidence in the club’s leadership as the Premier League’s long-running case involving 115 alleged financial breaches approaches a potential resolution.

Guardiola, who is set to take charge of Manchester City for the final time on Sunday against Aston Villa, is leaving the club before a final verdict is delivered on the charges.

The allegations relate to alleged financial impropriety spanning several seasons between 2009 and 2018.

Speaking ahead of his farewell match, the 55-year-old reiterated his trust in the club’s hierarchy and defended its conduct throughout the ongoing investigation.

“There will be a resolution. I trust them, I trust them,” Guardiola said.

“I trust how they behaved and how they did,” he added, noting that many players and staff currently at the club were not involved during the period under investigation.

Guardiola, who has managed City for several years, insisted that the matter dates back a long time and maintained his belief in the club’s integrity as the case continues.
