President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recorded a sweeping victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in Rivers State, securing all 280,082 votes cast during Saturday’s exercise.
The result was announced by Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who served as the State Collation Officer for the primary election.

Governor Fubara disclosed that although the APC has 297,068 registered members in Rivers State, a total of 280,082 members were accredited and participated in the exercise conducted across the 23 local government areas.
According to him, all valid votes cast went to President Tinubu, while his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, failed to secure any vote.
Fubara described the primary as peaceful, orderly, and well-coordinated, commending the leadership of the APC in the state for what he called effective planning and smooth conduct of the exercise.
He noted that the collation process was seamless and reflected the results submitted from all local government areas in the state.

The governor said he carefully reviewed the figures before certifying them as accurate and representative of the outcome of the election.
He, however, stated that the final declaration of the party’s presidential candidate would be made by the APC national headquarters in Abuja.
