The Presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has ruled out reports suggesting that he is planning to step down for any contender ahead of the party’s 2027 presidential primaries, insisting that Nigeria requires competent and results-driven leadership to address its worsening economic and social challenges.

Speaking during an interview, Hayatu-Deen maintained that every qualified Nigerian has the constitutional right to seek elective office, stressing that his ambition is driven by concerns over the country’s economic decline, insecurity and rising hardship among citizens.

He expressed confidence in his ability to lead the country, citing his professional experience and problem-solving background as qualities needed to reposition Nigeria.

According to him, the nation has witnessed a steady decline in living standards over the past two decades, marked by increasing unemployment, inflation, ation and pressure on key sectors such as education and healthcare.

The ADC aspirant also pledged loyalty to the party, stating that although he would not withdraw his ambition for anyone, he would support any candidate who emerges through a transparent process.

He added that his immediate priorities, if elected president, would include tackling the cost-of-living crisis, improving security, creating jobs and investing in critical sectors to drive long-term national development.
