The Theatre Command of the Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, has dismissed recent allegations circulating on social media claiming that troops deployed in the North-East are subjected to poor feeding conditions.

The clarification was issued by military authorities following renewed public concern over the welfare of frontline personnel engaged in counter-insurgency operations in the region.

Reacting to the claims, the Theatre Commander, Maj. Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, described the reports as misleading and not reflective of the actual situation in the operational theatre. According to him, troop welfare including feeding arrangements remains a top priority under established military protocols.

He explained that the feeding system is structured, accountable, and closely monitored through designated food committees made up of personnel within various formations, ensuring transparency and consistency in the distribution of rations.

Abubakar further stated that commanders are mandated to provide approved government rations, while soldiers themselves participate in oversight mechanisms to ensure quality and fairness in meal distribution.

He also dismissed claims of systemic neglect, noting that troops routinely receive full meal packages, including field rations and supplementary provisions where operational conditions allow.

The military leadership emphasised that isolated grievances or misrepresentations should not be used to generalise the welfare situation of personnel engaged in active combat operations against insurgents.

It warned that the spread of unverified information could undermine troop morale and distract from ongoing security operations aimed at stabilising the North-East.
