A Nigerian man, Bashir Dalhatu Liman, who was recently denied boarding a commercial bus over his ethnic identity, has resurfaced in a new video declaring his determination to reach his destination despite the setback.
Liman, identified as a Fulani, had earlier recounted how fellow passengers refused to travel with him on a Lagos–Calabar route, even after he had paid for his ticket. The incident, which occurred at a motor park in Lagos, sparked concern over ethnic profiling in public transportation.
In a follow-up video recorded at an airport terminal, Liman said he had opted for air travel and would not be deterred from pursuing a job opportunity in Calabar.
“Last week, passengers refused to travel with me… now here I am at the airport,” he said, adding that no one would prevent him from travelling because of his background.

He explained that his journey would take him from Lagos to Abuja, before continuing onward to Calabar. Emphasising his resolve, Liman stated that he could not afford to lose the job awaiting him and would complete the trip “in a peaceful way.”
The development has reignited conversations on social media about discrimination and inclusivity, particularly regarding how ethnic identity can influence treatment in everyday situations such as public transport.
