The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has dismissed as false a widely circulated Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result claiming that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394.
The purported result, which gained traction on social media, allegedly showed near-perfect scores across four subjects, sparking widespread reactions and debate among Nigerians.

However, the examination body swiftly debunked the claim, describing the result slip as fabricated.
In its response, JAMB identified several inconsistencies in the viral document, including irregularities in the examination registration number, which did not conform to official formats. The board also noted that the result template used in the circulating slip was not authentic.
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, further explained that candidates’ results are currently accessible only through official SMS channels, stressing that result slips are not yet available for printing on the board’s portal. This, he said, makes the existence of such a detailed printed result at this stage impossible.
The board reiterated that the UTME remains a regulated process and warned the public against spreading unverified information capable of misleading candidates and stakeholders.
Meanwhile, JAMB had recently confirmed the arrest of suspects involved in falsifying UTME scores using artificial intelligence and other electronic means, underscoring the board’s resolve to preserve the integrity of the examination process.

JAMB urged candidates and the general public to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information regarding UTME results.
