FC Barcelona have reportedly added Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen to its shortlist as they prepare for a major reshuffle of its attacking unit ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to information attributed to Catalunya Radio and cited via Tribuna.com, the Catalan club is prioritising the recruitment of a new centre-forward.

However, their pursuit of several high-profile targets, including Julián Álvarez, Erling Haaland, and Harry Kane, is reportedly complicated by ongoing financial restrictions and squad registration constraints.

These limitations have reportedly forced the club’s sporting leadership, headed by Deco, to reassess their strategy and consider more financially viable alternatives. Within that revised approach, Osimhen has emerged as one of the most prominent options under evaluation.

The 27-year-old forward, currently playing for Galatasaray S.K., is well known across European football for his explosive pace, physical strength, and reliable goal-scoring output. His profile is viewed internally as a strong tactical fit for Barcelona’s evolving attacking structure.

Osimhen is not unfamiliar with elite European competition, having previously faced top-level Spanish opposition in continental tournaments. That experience, combined with his consistent performances, has strengthened his reputation as one of the more complete strikers available on the market.

Despite growing interest, any potential deal is expected to be financially complex. Reports suggest that the Nigerian international’s wage expectations, alongside transfer valuation considerations, could present a significant obstacle for FC Barcelona, who continue to operate under strict economic controls.

Even so, Barcelona are believed to remain attentive to the situation as they attempt to balance long-term sporting ambition with financial sustainability, while continuing their search for a reliable focal point in attack.
