A political group in Uyo Senatorial District, UYO IS RIPE Movement has concluded arrangement for a tour of all the nine Local Government Areas of the Senatorial District to galvanize grassroots support and reposition the Senatorial District for the socio-political and economic advancement, especially, as preparations for the 2027 general election gathers momentum.
The International Coordinator of the group, Elder Ndanti Ekuh made this known while speaking with newsmen in Uyo over the weekend, describing Uyo is Ripe movement as a formidable coalition of political stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, women organizations and professionals across Uyo Senatorial District.
He said the leadership of the group was inaugurated on March 25, and it’s now ready to take the Uyo Is Ripe message to all the nooks and crannies of the Uyo Senatorial District, noting that the message is that of qualitative, effective and people-oriented representation in the Senatorial District and the bountiful harvest of dividends of such representation.

While applauding Senator Aniekan Bassey for his representation of the Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, Ekuh said, it is simply a thing of common sense to return Senator Aniekan Bassey to the Senate come 2027 to consolidate and harvest the many legislative seeds he spent the last three years planting which he said have not only yielded good fruits, but is ripe for harvest for the benefit of the Senatorial District.
He hinted that Stakeholders across the Senatorial District have already aligned with such common sense and very much ready to work with Uyo Is Ripe Movement to ensure that the people of the Senatorial District enjoy the dividends of the representation.
“Very soon we will be taking the Uyo is Ripe message to all the local government of Uyo Senatorial District because people are eagerly waiting to be part of the movement. Uyo Senatorial District is always united for development-driven programmes and the overall interest of the people of the Senatorial District. This is evident in the recent stakeholders’ summit organized by the Uyo Senatorial District Stakeholders to endorse President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno for a second term. That is equally the spirit and the aspiration of the Uyo is Ripe movement. We will be meeting all the stakeholders in each of the Local government and I can tell you that from the expression of interest we have got from our stakeholders and leaders, they are set to embrace the Uyo is Ripe movement and work with the movement to achieve its goal,” the Coordinator said.
