GOV ENO INSPECTS KEY PROJECTS, URGES TIMELY COMPLETION

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Tuesday undertook an unscheduled inspection of several ongoing infrastructure projects across the state, calling for timely delivery, strict adherence to standards.

The governor first visited the Aviation Village project, where he assessed completed housing units, the access gate, internal road network, and a model primary school. The project, situated on a 15-hectare expanse, comprises 100 housing units, including two- and three-bedroom apartments, alongside a dual carriage access road and perimeter fencing.

Governor Eno expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and confidence in the project’s timely completion, noting that it is designed to provide accommodation for aviation personnel ahead of the commencement of international flight operations at the state’s airport.

He also commended female contractors handling aspects of the project for their professionalism and capacity, directing that more government projects be awarded to them based on merit and performance.

The governor proceeded to inspect the Equipment Leasing and Maintenance Plant, a facility aimed at boosting mechanized agriculture in the state. The plant features tractor sheds, administrative buildings, a fully equipped maintenance workshop, tractors with attachable implements, and transport vehicles.

At another site, Governor Eno reviewed plans for the construction of a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mass transit bus terminal. The project will include a gas filling station, training academy, maintenance workshops, restaurants, a police post, and other supporting infrastructure.

Despite inclement weather, the governor continued his inspection tour to the Dakkada Luxury Estate, where the State Assembly Quarters, Executive Council Quarters are under construction.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to closely monitoring critical infrastructure projects to ensure quality delivery and timely completion across the state.
