The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the creation of a Special Representatives Network in key global capitals, aiming to strengthen international engagement, promote democratic accountability in Nigeria.
In a release signed by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary, ADC UK Chapter, the initiative responds to what the party describes as ongoing undemocratic practices since July 2025, including attacks on opposition members, attempts to destabilize parties, and restrictions on political participation.
The ADC said the network will appoint credible envoys in selected capitals to serve as official contacts with foreign governments, parliamentary committees, international media, democracy support institutions, and Nigerian diaspora communities. These representatives will provide briefings on Nigeria’s political environment, human rights concerns, electoral integrity, and opposition repression, while communicating the ADC’s policy positions and reform proposals.
“The primary goal is to ensure international partners receive balanced, credible information about Nigeria’s political situation, not just official government narratives,” the party said in the statement.

Strategic locations for the network include Washington, DC; London; Brussels; Berlin; Ottawa; Paris; Pretoria; Addis Ababa; Nairobi; Accra; Geneva; and New York.
In parallel, the ADC will launch a National Documentation Initiative to systematically record threats, harassment, attacks, arbitrary arrests, and disruptions affecting political participation nationwide.
The party described the move as a step to strengthen its global presence, enhance the flow of reliable information on Nigeria’s politics, reinforce its commitment to democratic governance, accountability, and protection of opposition rights.
