The Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a security bulletin warning that Iran could attempt retaliatory drone attacks against targets on the West Coast of the United States, including locations in California.
The alert, circulated to law enforcement agencies through the Los Angeles Joint Regional Intelligence Center, indicated that Iranian authorities had allegedly considered launching surprise drone strikes from vessels at sea in response to potential US military action.
The warning was reportedly issued before the outbreak of the ongoing conflict that began on February 28, when the United States and Israel carried out major air strikes against Iranian targets.
Since the start of the war, Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks
against Israel and several Gulf countries hosting US military installations. Reports indicate that several American soldiers were killed during an attack on a base in Kuwait early in the conflict.
Despite the warning, President Donald Trump downplayed concerns about possible attacks on American soil, telling reporters he was not worried about retaliation.

Officials in California also said there was no immediate threat. Governor Gavin Newsom stated that the state had increased security monitoring but that authorities were not aware of any imminent danger.
Authorities in Los Angeles said they were coordinating with federal and state agencies to ensure public safety while continuing to monitor developments linked to the wider Middle East conflict.
