President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded Nigeria’s security personnel for their commitment and sacrifices in combating terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other security threats across the country.
In a message addressed to members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies, Tinubu described security operatives as the protective shield safeguarding citizens and preserving national peace and stability.
The president acknowledged the difficult conditions under which troops and security personnel operate, noting that they serve across forests, highways, waterways, airspace and other challenging environments to protect lives and property.

He extended appreciation to personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, intelligence agencies and local security formations for their continued efforts in maintaining national security.
Tinubu also paid tribute to the families of security personnel, recognising the emotional strain, long separations and uncertainties that often accompany service to the nation.
The president honoured officers and personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, describing their sacrifices as vital contributions to Nigeria’s survival and stability.
Emphasising the role of citizens in tackling insecurity, Tinubu urged Nigerians to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious activities.
According to him, the fight against terrorism and violent crime should not be left solely to the military and security agencies but requires the active participation of all citizens.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to restoring security, Tinubu stated that Nigeria would not allow terrorists, bandits, kidnappers or violent extremists to define the nation’s identity, stressing that unity and resilience remain stronger than forces seeking to spread fear and violence.
He thanked security personnel for their vigilance and dedication, while wishing them safety as they continue to defend the country.
