President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Team Nigeria to compete with courage, discipline and integrity at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, at the Presidential Send-off Ceremony in Abuja, the President charged the athletes to make Nigeria proud through fair competition, stressing that winning with integrity is more important than winning at all costs.

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sports development, highlighting the signing of the Nigerian Anti-Doping Act and the inauguration of the board of the Nigerian Anti-Doping Centre to promote clean sports.

The President expressed confidence that the 72-member Nigerian contingent, which will compete in 10 sporting events, has the talent and determination to surpass the country’s best-ever Commonwealth Games performance.
