Colombian music star, Shakira has announced the official theme song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.

The song, titled Dai Dai, is scheduled for release on May 14 ahead of the global football tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Shakira announced her social media platforms, sharing a teaser video filmed at the iconic Maracanã Stadium.
“From Maracaná Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready!” the singer posted online.
The collaboration has generated excitement among football and music fans globally, with Burna Boy becoming one of the few Nigerian artistes to feature on an official FIFA World Cup soundtrack.
Shakira is widely recognised for her previous World Cup hits, particularly Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which became the official anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and remains one of football’s most celebrated songs.
Burna Boy’s involvement further highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats on major international platforms. The Nigerian singer previously performed at the UEFA Champions League final kick-off show in Istanbul in 2023 and has continued to gain worldwide recognition for his music and stage performances.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is expected to be one of the biggest sporting events in history, featuring an expanded format with 48 participating nations.
