Premier League and English Football League clubs are facing the final hours of the summer transfer window as teams rush to complete their remaining business before the deadline.
The transfer window is scheduled to close at 23:00 BST on Tuesday, September 1, bringing an end to weeks of negotiations, major signings and late squad adjustments ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Clubs across England’s top divisions have continued working on last-minute deals, with several teams attempting to strengthen key areas before the deadline.
Deadline day activity has already produced major moves, including Manchester City’s reported agreement to sign Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez in a deal worth £125 million, matching the British transfer record.
Manchester United, Chelsea and other Premier League sides have also remained active as they look to complete additions, departures and loan agreements before the window shuts.
Clubs that reach an agreement before the deadline but require additional time to complete paperwork can use a deal sheet, which allows final formalities to continue after the 23:00 BST deadline if the required documents are submitted on time.
The closing hours of the window are expected to feature further negotiations as clubs attempt to finalise squad changes before the market officially closes.
