The Jigawa State Police Command has foiled an alleged kidnapping operation and arrested two suspects before the planned abduction could be carried out, authorities have confirmed.
Police spokesperson, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, disclosed the development in a statement issued to journalists on Sunday, noting that swift intelligence-led action prevented the execution of the criminal plot.

According to the statement, operatives arrested 55-year-old Adamu Gari of Zabo Kafi Village in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area, Jigawa State, alongside 40-year-old Abdullahi Adamu of Fatiske Village in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly worked with other members of a criminal syndicate to kidnap two individuals in Jama’are town, Bauchi State.
The police said the arrests were made in the suspects’ respective hometowns before the planned operation could take place, effectively disrupting the conspiracy and averting the crime.
Authorities added that the suspects are currently providing useful information to investigators as efforts continue to identify and apprehend other members of the alleged network.
The Jigawa Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property while encouraging residents to provide timely and credible information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime.

Investigation into the case remains ongoing as police intensify efforts to uncover the full scope of the alleged kidnapping conspiracy and bring all involved persons to justice.
