A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, has died.
Orbih, a close political associate of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, reportedly died on Monday, August 31, 2026.
His death was announced by the Orbih family in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, who described the family as deeply saddened by the loss while expressing submission to the will of God.
The statement said the late politician is survived by his wife, Florence Orbih; his children, Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih; as well as his siblings and other members of the extended family.
The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to keep them in their prayers as they come to terms with his death.
It added that details of the burial and other funeral arrangements would be announced at a later date.
Orbih was a notable figure within the PDP and had remained active in the party’s political affairs over the years.
