The Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF), Etaba Agbor, Esq., has commended the NBA Ikeja Branch for its commitment to the welfare and professional development of young lawyers.

Agbor gave the commendation during the NBA-YLF Ikeja Branch Summit 2026, held on Friday, May 22, with the theme: “The Future-Ready Lawyer: Tech, Trends, Challenges & Career Breakthroughs.”

The summit brought together legal practitioners and stakeholders to discuss emerging trends in legal practice and the need for young lawyers to adapt to technological and professional changes shaping the future of the profession.

Delivering a goodwill message on behalf of the National Governing Council of the NBA Young Lawyers Forum, Agbor praised the branch leadership for dedicating part of its Bar Centre as a co-working space for young lawyers.

According to him, the initiative aligns with the forum’s advocacy for practical support systems that would provide young lawyers, especially those without employment opportunities, with professional workspaces to collaborate and remain engaged in legal practice.

He also called on senior lawyers within the branch to support the initiative by donating the facilities and resources needed to sustain the co-working space.

Agbor specifically commended the leadership of the branch under its Chairman, Prayer Oko, for organising what he described as a timely and impactful summit.

He noted that discussions and presentations at the event reflected the realities of modern legal practice and underscored the importance of innovation, adaptability, and collaboration among young lawyers.

“Moments like this remind us that the future of the profession belongs to lawyers who are willing to learn, adapt, innovate, and collaborate,” Agbor stated.

The summit featured panel sessions and presentations focused on technology, career development, and challenges facing the legal profession in a rapidly evolving global environment.
