A motorcycle rider has reportedly been killed by unidentified assailants, with his mutilated body discovered along Longvel Road in Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The victim’s motorcycle was also reportedly stolen, raising concerns among residents about security along the road and surrounding communities.

A resident of the community, Henry Homsuk, confirmed that residents woke up on Monday morning to reports of the incident.

He lamented that a resident could lose his life in such circumstances, particularly when people depended on motorcycles for transportation and their livelihoods.
According to him, the reported theft of the victim’s motorcycle added to residents’ concerns about criminal activities in the area.
The community member called on security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and ensure that those responsible were identified and brought to justice.
He disclosed that the incident had been reported to security operatives and appealed for prompt intervention.
Homsuk also urged authorities to strengthen patrols and surveillance along Longvel Road and other vulnerable locations in Shendam Local Government Area.
He stressed that residents should be able to travel, conduct business and carry out their daily activities without fear of attacks.
The incident has prompted renewed calls for improved security measures and greater cooperation between local communities and law enforcement agencies.
Residents are particularly concerned about the safety of commercial motorcycle operators and other road users who may travel through isolated areas.
