The Lagos State Government is set to award a total of ₦30 million in grants to 10 young entrepreneurs under the 2026 Amplifier Business Clinic programme.
The initiative, organised by the Ministry of Youth and Social Development in collaboration with Pelse Consulting, is designed to help young entrepreneurs transform existing skills and ideas into sustainable businesses.
Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, said during the programme’s Pitch Day that the initiative goes beyond providing financial support by equipping participants with the knowledge required to build and expand viable enterprises.
She explained that some entrepreneurs begin businesses from hobbies or personal skills without understanding the commercial structures needed to turn them into sustainable ventures.
The ₦30 million grant represents an increase from the ₦20 million awarded to eight beneficiaries during the previous edition of the programme.

Successful entrepreneurs will also be assigned mentors who will guide them on how to deploy the funds and strengthen their businesses.
Participants who do not emerge as grant beneficiaries will continue to receive support through the programme.
Managing Partner of Pelse Consulting, Boboye Adeniji Oluwafemi, said about 1,300 applications were received for the 2026 edition.
Following online assessments, interviews and other screening exercises, 568 applicants were selected, while 250 proceeded to virtual training.
Further assessments, business cases and mock pitches were subsequently used to select participants for physical training and the final pitching stage.
The entrepreneurs received training in financial modelling, cash-flow management, pricing, customer service, risk management, business planning, record-keeping, branding, social media management, artificial intelligence and team leadership.
Oluwafemi said the programme was designed to address the gap between possessing a valuable skill and having the business knowledge required to commercialise and scale it successfully.
Participants were also connected with financial institutions and government agencies to improve their access to financial services and other business-support opportunities.

The programme featured entrepreneurs operating businesses in areas including leather products, food processing, fashion, cosmetics, honey production, printing, footwear, palm oil, beads and dry fish.
Grant beneficiaries will undergo compulsory mentorship with professionals in their respective sectors, while periodic monitoring and evaluation will be conducted to assess their progress.
Organisers said the broader objective is to develop sustainable small and medium-sized enterprises capable of expanding, creating employment and contributing to economic growth in Lagos State.
