Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus has declined to make further comments on Cristiano Ronaldo’s detailed account of the disagreement that led to the forward leaving the national team camp.
Jesus confirmed on Wednesday that he had read Ronaldo’s statement but indicated that his attention had returned to his responsibilities with the Portuguese national team.
“I read the statement, and now, like I do every day, I’m going to the Federation headquarters to work and think about the Portuguese national team. I have nothing more to say,” Jesus said.

Ronaldo released a lengthy statement on Tuesday explaining his version of the events surrounding his departure from Portugal’s camp before the UEFA Nations League match against Denmark.
The 41-year-old accused Jesus of breaking his word on two occasions.
According to Ronaldo, an arrangement had initially been reached to manage his involvement during the international window. He said Jesus later told him he could play for about 30 minutes against Norway, prompting him to warm up during the match, but he was ultimately not introduced.
Ronaldo said the episode amounted to the first broken commitment.
He further claimed that a subsequent meeting involving himself, Jesus and other representatives resulted in an understanding about how the coach would publicly clarify the situation.
Ronaldo said an eight-point document was prepared covering the circumstances surrounding his involvement with the national team, including his relationship with Jesus and his conduct within the squad.
He alleged that Jesus’ subsequent public remarks did not reflect what had been agreed, describing that as the second time the coach had broken his word.
Jesus has previously disputed Ronaldo’s account of an agreement and maintained that his decisions concerning players remain part of his authority as head coach.

Despite the disagreement, Jesus has left open the possibility of Ronaldo returning to the national team.
Ronaldo has also said he remains available to represent Portugal after accepting whatever disciplinary consequences may arise from his decision to leave the camp.
He apologised to his teammates and supporters for his actions while maintaining his position regarding the events that led to his departure.
Jesus’ latest response indicates that the coach does not intend to continue the public exchange, with his focus now returning to Portugal’s preparations for future international fixtures.
