The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for 632,788 candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) held on Thursday, April 16.
In a statement issued by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, the Board confirmed that candidates can now access their results, although printing functionality is yet to be enabled.
According to JAMB, candidates are currently limited to checking their scores via SMS by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used during registration.
The Board also disclosed that two candidates and one parent are in custody for allegedly attempting to manipulate examination results using artificial intelligence and other electronic methods.
JAMB warned that anyone found guilty of examination malpractice would face the full weight of the law.
“The Board remains committed to preserving the integrity of the examination process and will not hesitate to take decisive action against any form of malpractice,” the statement noted.
JAMB further assured the public that the UTME exercise is still ongoing nationwide and that additional batches of results will be released in due course as marking and verification processes are completed.
The development underscores ongoing efforts by the examination body to curb emerging forms of digital fraud and maintain credibility in Nigeria’s tertiary admission process.
