Israeli forces have carried out fresh military raids in several communities across the occupied West Bank, entering the Old City of Nablus, arresting four Palestinians and establishing a checkpoint near Ramallah.
The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported on Sunday that Israeli troops entered the Old City of Nablus and took up positions in parts of the area.
The military deployment formed part of a series of operations reported across Palestinian communities in the northern and central West Bank.

In Burin, a town south of Nablus, Israeli forces arrested four Palestinians during an early morning raid.
According to Palestinian security sources cited by Wafa, troops entered the town, searched several residential buildings and detained four residents.
Those arrested were identified as Qassem Mohammad Najjar, Mahmoud Mohammad Najjar and brothers Ahmad and Abdul Nasser As’ous.
The circumstances surrounding their arrests and any allegations against them were not immediately disclosed.
In a related operation, Israeli forces reportedly entered the Balata refugee camp, east of Nablus, where soldiers searched several homes amid a heavy military presence.
Meanwhile, northwest of Ramallah, Israeli troops established a military checkpoint at the entrance to the village of al-Nabi Saleh.
According to Wafa, soldiers stopped and searched Palestinian vehicles travelling through the area, causing significant traffic congestion.
The troops subsequently fired tear gas towards vehicles near the checkpoint.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
The latest operations come amid continuing tensions in the occupied West Bank, where military raids, arrests and restrictions on movement have affected several Palestinian communities.
Israeli authorities have previously described security operations in the territory as measures intended to prevent attacks and apprehend suspects.
However, Palestinian residents and rights organisations have raised concerns about the effects of repeated raids and movement restrictions on civilian life.

The reported checkpoint restrictions also highlight continuing difficulties faced by residents travelling between towns and villages for work, education and medical services.
As of the time of reporting, no detailed Israeli military statement specifically addressing Sunday’s operations in Nablus, Burin and al-Nabi Saleh had been independently confirmed.
The situation remains tense as residents continue to face heightened security measures across parts of the occupied territory.
