GOV ENO RECEIVES HILDA BACI, LAUDS HER DARING SPIRIT

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has lauded Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, for her courage, determination and willingness to take on ambitious challenges.

Eno gave the commendation on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, when he received Baci, an indigene of the state, at the Government House in Uyo.

The governor said Baci’s achievements demonstrated the importance of determination and courage in overcoming barriers and attaining exceptional milestones.

He also commended her for bringing recognition to Akwa Ibom through her culinary achievements and encouraged her to continue promoting the state positively.

Speaking after the meeting, Baci expressed admiration for the pace of development in Akwa Ibom, particularly the state’s infrastructure, peaceful environment and growing opportunities for investors.

The chef, who spoke with members of the Government House Press Corps, described the state as “amazingly beautiful” and commended Governor Eno for what she called his vision and leadership.

Baci singled out the Victor Attah International Airport for praise, describing its facilities as impressive and comparable to world-class standards.

She also lauded the hospitality and industriousness of Akwa Ibom people, expressing her willingness to collaborate with relevant stakeholders on initiatives that could contribute to the state’s development.

The Guinness World Record holder encouraged tourists and potential investors to explore Akwa Ibom, citing opportunities in tourism, hospitality, recreation, the environment and other sectors.

According to her, greater patronage of these opportunities could help businesses and investors unlock their potential while contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Baci further urged residents to sustain a culture of peace, unity and love, saying these values were important for attracting investment and supporting long-term development.

Those present during the visit included the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno Obareki; Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Udeme Otong; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Executive Assistant/Chief Delivery Advisor, Aniefiok Johnson; Majority Leader of the House of Assembly, Otobong Bob; Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Anieti Udofia; Chairman, State Hotels and Tourism Board, Ime Udo; Delivery Advisor on Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh; and other government officials.
