Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commended the peaceful conduct of the All Progressives Congress, APC, House of Representatives primary elections across the State.
Governor Eno gave the commendation on Saturday shortly after participating in the primary exercise at Ibiakpan Obotim II Ward in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.
The Governor praised party faithful for their orderly conduct during the exercise and described the primaries as free, fair and transparent.
According to him, reports received from across the State also confirmed that the process was peaceful and credible.
Governor Eno congratulated winners of the primaries across Akwa Ibom State, particularly the Member representing Etinan Federal Constituency, Obong Paul Ekpo, who emerged victorious in Ibiakpan Obotim II Ward.
The Governor also used the occasion to formally consult with his ward and mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his administration, Senator Aniekan Bassey, Obong Paul Ekpo and Rt. Hon. Otobong Bob ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He further informed party members that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has resumed voter registration nationwide and urged eligible citizens who were yet registered to take advantage of the exercise.
Governor Eno thanked APC supporters across the State for their massive turnout during the congresses and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-oriented leadership and development.
Earlier, the APC State Deputy Chairman, Mr Aniekan Ekpo, commended Governor Eno for what he described as quality leadership and infrastructural transformation across the State.
He assured the Governor of the total support of the people of Ibiakpan Obotim II Ward for his re-election bid and all APC candidates.
Also speaking, political leader of the ward, Obong Friday Akpan, appreciated Governor Eno for the ongoing infrastructural and human capital development projects in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area and pledged continued support for the Governor.
The APC Ward Chairman, Hon. Jephter Tom, also commended the Governor for personally participating in the exercise and officially consulting with the ward, describing him as a humble and people-focused leader.
He assured that the ward would mobilise massive support to ensure victory for Governor Eno and all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
