Ghana has officially launched the “Ghana House” initiative as part of its preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games scheduled to be held in Glasgow, Scotland.

The official press launch took place in Accra, with government officials and sports administrators outlining plans to use the initiative as a platform to promote Ghana on the global stage during the Games.

Ghana House at Glasgow 2026 is expected to showcase the country’s rich culture, tourism potential, and business opportunities while serving as a hub for networking and international engagement throughout the sporting event.

Speaking to the pressmen, Ghana’s Chef de Mission for the Games, Ernest Danso, disclosed that preparations for the competition are already in progress.

“Currently, we have boxers in camp, and Ghana is preparing to stage a good show at the Commonwealth Games,” he said.

Danso noted that beyond sports, the Ghana House initiative is designed to positively project the country to the international community.

“It is to project Ghana, our Ghanaian culture, and tourism,” he added.

Ghana’s Sports Minister, Kofi Adams, also stressed the need for the country to improve its performance at the Games, noting that strong results by athletes would further boost Ghana’s visibility.

“The greatest traffic to Ghana House will be driven by our performance. When our athletes shine, Ghana shines,” he said.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will take place in Glasgow from July 23 to August 2, 2026.
