The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), RS6.3 Akwa Ibom State Command, has appointed Mrs. Felicia Kalu as its new Sector Commander.
This was disclosed in a press statement issued on Thursday by the Command’s Public Enlightenment and Public Relations Officer, Mr. Paul James.
According to the statement, Kalu takes over from Mr. Francis Ajatta, who has been redeployed to the Rivers State Command.
James noted that the appointment is part of efforts to enhance performance and improve efficiency in road traffic management and safety both in Akwa Ibom State and across the country.
He stated that Kalu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from Abia State University, Uturu, and a Master’s degree in Communication Science from the University of Bucharest, Romania.
The spokesperson further revealed that the new Sector Commander has held several key positions within the Corps, including Acting Corps Secretary and Corps Librarian at the national headquarters. Until her recent appointment, she served as Acting Corps Public Education Officer at the headquarters.
In her maiden address, Kalu expressed her readiness to build on the achievements of her predecessors, while charging officers and men of the Command to uphold discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
She also called on motorists and other road users to cooperate with the Corps in ensuring safer roads across the state.
“To ensure effective service delivery, she solicits the cooperation of motorists and other road users in the state to keep the roads free from crashes,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Sector Commander, Mr. Ajatta, appreciated officers and personnel of the Command for their support during his tenure and urged them to extend the same cooperation to his successor.
