The Force Commander of the ECOWAS Stabilisation Support Mission in Guinea-Bissau (ESSMGB), Brigadier General Danjuma Ribah Dantani, has tasked personnel of Ghana Company 5 (GHANCOY 5) to sustain their high level of operational readiness, professionalism and discipline.
Brigadier General Dantani gave the charge on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, during an operational visit to the company’s headquarters in Bissau, as part of his ongoing tour of contingents’ camps under the regional stabilisation mission.
Addressing the Ghanaian contingent, the Force Commander commended the troops for the operational posture observed at the camp, describing it as consistent with the mission’s commitment to professionalism, discipline and effective service.
He urged personnel to strictly adhere to established operational procedures and work collectively as a team to ensure the successful implementation of the ECOWAS mandate in Guinea-Bissau.

Dantani also commended the Combat Team Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Leonard Kweku Danful, for his leadership and efforts within a short period, while congratulating newly promoted officers of the company.
Earlier, Lieutenant Colonel Danful received the Force Commander and briefed him on the company’s pre-deployment training, administration, operations, logistics and ongoing training activities.
The visit forms part of the Force Commander’s efforts to assess the operational preparedness of contingents, strengthen leadership and ensure that personnel remain disciplined and focused on the objectives of the ESSMGB.
The Force Headquarters said the visit underscored the mission’s commitment to maintaining a high level of operational readiness and ensuring that all contingents are adequately prepared to effectively execute their assigned responsibilities in support of peace and stability in Guinea-Bissau.
