The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti, has announced the resumption of academic activities for returning students today, Monday, October 12, 2026, marking the beginning of the 2026/2027 academic session.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Gbenga Aribisala, disclosed the resumption schedule in a statement outlining the institution’s preparations for the new academic year.

According to the university management, newly admitted students are scheduled to resume on Monday, November 2, 2026, three weeks after returning students.

Aribisala explained that the institution had successfully concluded its maiden academic session, which commenced on January 5, 2026, and ended in August.

He described the completion of the inaugural session as an important milestone in the university’s development, reaffirming management’s determination to maintain a stable academic calendar.

The vice-chancellor said the institution would continue to prioritise uninterrupted academic activities, effective teaching and research, and the timely completion of students’ programmes.

He explained that lectures, examinations, processing of results and other academic activities would be properly coordinated to minimise disruptions and prevent unnecessary delays in students’ academic progression.

Aribisala further stated that the university would build on the achievements recorded during its first academic session by strengthening academic administration, improving teaching and learning processes, and providing an environment conducive to research and innovation.

He maintained that a predictable academic calendar remained essential to effective university administration and would enable students and lecturers to plan their activities with greater certainty.

The management also reaffirmed its commitment to consolidating the institution’s academic foundation as it enters its second academic session.
