President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the celebration of Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to reflect on and emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the occasion should go beyond celebrating the birth of the Prophet to include introspection, prayer and learning from his exemplary life.
Tinubu urged Muslims to make deliberate efforts to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, highlighting devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness as key lessons from his life.
The President also called on Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and encourage their followers to translate the Prophet’s teachings into greater commitment to the country.
He urged Muslims celebrating the Maulud to extend kindness and support to the needy and vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of the occasion.
Tinubu further called for prayers against insecurity and other challenges affecting communities across the country, urging Nigerians to continue working towards peace, unity and national development.
