Arsenal produced a comeback victory over Chelsea on Sunday, defeating their London rivals 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium to maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.

Chelsea took an early lead just two minutes into the match when Morgan Rogers found the net, giving the visitors a strong start against the reigning champions.

Arsenal responded before half-time, with Kai Havertz equalising in the 25th minute after an assist from Declan Rice to restore parity at 1-1.

The Gunners completed the turnaround five minutes after the restart when captain Martin Ødegaard scored in the 50th minute, with Crysencio Tzolis providing the assist to put Arsenal ahead.

Chelsea pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages but were unable to break through Arsenal’s defence, with goalkeeper David Raya making a crucial late save to preserve the victory.

The result keeps Arsenal’s 100 per cent record intact this season, while Chelsea suffered their first defeat under new manager Xabi Alonso.

The match was played in front of 60,240 spectators at the Emirates Stadium, with Arsenal showing resilience after falling behind early in the encounter.

The victory further strengthens Arsenal’s position at the top of the league standings, while Chelsea will look to recover from their first setback of the campaign.
