Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered in Damaturu, Yobe State, on Saturday for a solidarity rally in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The gathering, organised under the Tinubu Must Go Again movement, attracted party supporters, youth groups and political stakeholders seeking to strengthen grassroots mobilisation for the ruling party.

Participants marched along the Damaturu–Potiskum Road, displaying APC flags, campaign posters and placards expressing support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

According to reports from the event, the procession began at approximately 7:30 a.m. and ended around 11:30 a.m.

The rally formed part of ongoing political activities by APC-aligned groups seeking to mobilise voters ahead of the presidential and other elections scheduled for 2027.

The movement’s National Coordinator, Professor Sheriff Almuhajir, has previously described its activities as an effort to promote the administration’s policies and encourage public participation in the electoral process.

Organisers expressed confidence that the movement would strengthen support for Tinubu and other APC candidates across Yobe State.

The Yobe State Coordinator of the movement, Dr Mukhtar Yarima Bularafa, has also been involved in political mobilisation and youth empowerment initiatives ahead of the elections.

Earlier in November, Bularafa organised an empowerment programme involving the distribution of vehicles, motorcycles and solar-powered water pumps to selected beneficiaries.

The initiative was presented as part of efforts to encourage youth participation and strengthen political engagement within the state.

The Damaturu solidarity rally comes as the APC continues preparations for its nationwide presidential campaign.

According to the party’s previously released timetable, Yobe State is scheduled to host an official presidential campaign rally on November 16, separate from Saturday’s solidarity gathering.

The campaign programme covers all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with President Tinubu expected to attend selected events.

Supporters at the Damaturu gathering expressed optimism about the ruling party’s electoral prospects and pledged to continue mobilisation activities in their communities.

However, the turnout at the rally does not independently establish the level of support for the APC across the wider electorate.

Reports indicated that Saturday’s procession concluded peacefully, with no major security incident recorded.

The event reflects continuing campaign activities by political support groups as preparations intensify for Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
