The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has commended Governor Umo Eno for what it described as his exemplary leadership and commitment to peace following the successful conduct of the party’s senatorial primary elections across the state.
In a press release dated May 19, 2026, and signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Chief Patrick Edeke, the APC described the exercise as peaceful, seamless, and hitch-free, attributing the success to the governor’s “leadership acumen, political maturity, and unwavering commitment to democratic ideals.”
The party praised Governor Eno for fostering unity and stability within the party, describing him as a bridge-builder and compassionate statesman whose inclusive leadership style has strengthened confidence among stakeholders and party faithful.

The APC also expressed appreciation to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, for his support, guidance, and commitment to the growth and stability of the party in Akwa Ibom State.
Similarly, the party commended the APC State Chairman, Stephen Ntukekpo, for his coordination and leadership during the primaries, noting that his efforts contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the exercise.
Special recognition was also given to the Local Organising Committee led by Prince Enobong Uwah for its administrative coordination and dedication, as well as the chairmen of the 31 local government areas under the leadership of ALGON Chairman, Dr Uwemedimo E. Udo, for their grassroots mobilisation and support.
The party further appreciated stakeholders, aspirants, ward and chapter executives, youths, women leaders, and members of the party for maintaining peace and demonstrating confidence in the party’s democratic process.

The APC urged members to remain united and mobilised ahead of the State House of Assembly primary elections scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
According to the statement, the party remains committed to consolidating the gains of unity, peace, progress, and electoral victory in the state.
