According to a release issued on Wednesday by the Director of the State Education Quality Assurance Service (SEQAS), Mr Abasiama Inyang, the break will commence on Thursday, June 4, and end on Friday, June 5, 2026.

The ministry directed principals and head teachers of public primary, secondary and technical schools, as well as proprietors of private nursery, primary and secondary schools, to comply fully with the directive.

The statement further informed parents and guardians that academic activities will resume on Monday, June 8, 2026, following the conclusion of the break.

The mid-term break is in line with the state’s academic calendar and is intended to provide students and teachers a short rest before the completion of the third term.

Education stakeholders are expected to ensure compliance with the directive as schools prepare to resume academic activities next week.
