The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says it is prepared for any eventuality ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that it can defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) if the election is free and fair.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated this during an interview on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast, while responding to concerns about whether the opposition could unseat the APC amid the emergence of several opposition groups.

Abdullahi said the ADC was confident of victory but remained concerned about the credibility of the electoral process.

“In a free and fair election, we have no doubt in my mind that we will win this election,” he said.

He said the party was prepared to defend its votes, alleging that the APC could attempt to manipulate the 2027 election.

“The challenge is: Will there be a fair election? We are ready for that. We are ready for anything,” Abdullahi said.

The ADC spokesman further alleged that the ruling party was losing public support and had resorted to threats as a result.

He also referenced a recent comment attributed to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, regarding the outcome of the Osun State governorship election.

According to Abdullahi, Wike’s suggestion that he could have delivered Osun State for the APC if he were there raised concerns about possible attempts to influence electoral outcomes.

“What does that mean? That regardless of what the Osun people think, you have a way to deliver it. That’s a confession,” he said.

Abdullahi said the ADC would therefore focus on protecting its votes and ensuring its supporters are adequately represented throughout the electoral process.
