Prominent businessman and socialite, Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has been appointed South East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement.
The appointment was formally conveyed on Monday night when Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, paid a visit to Iyiegbu at his residence, presented him with the appointment letter.
Obi Cubana confirmed the development in a post shared on his official Instagram page on Tuesday, noting that the visit also provided an opportunity for discussions on national issues and shared perspectives.
He described Seyi Tinubu as a long time friend, stated that their conversation focused on unity, engagement, nation building.
Reacting to the mixed public reactions that followed his appointment, the Anambra born entrepreneur defended his decision, stating that positive change is better achieved through active participation rather than disengagement.
According to him, working within the system offers a stronger platform to influence development, promote inclusive leadership.
Obi Cubana assured that his new role would not affect his personal values, stressing his continued commitment to integrity, community development, and responsible leadership.
He described President Bola Tinubu as a man of commerce, expressed confidence that inclusivity would guide his engagement within the movement.
Calling for tolerance of diverse opinions, he urged Nigerians to remain focused on creating tangible value for national progress, while pledging to carry people along in his new responsibility.
He also thanked supporters for their goodwill and reiterated his commitment to contributing positively to national development.
