Electricity supply has been restored to the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa, after the mission settled outstanding municipal service charges owed to the City of Tshwane.

Power to the High Commission was disconnected on Monday as part of enforcement actions by the city over unpaid utility bills. The development was confirmed by the Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Nasiphi Moya, who stated that the diplomatic mission had defaulted on payments for municipal services.

Following the disconnection, the city indicated that power would be restored once the outstanding debt was cleared. The mayor later confirmed that the Nigerian High Commission had honoured its financial obligations, paving the way for reconnection of electricity.

Electricity was subsequently restored after payment was made. The Nigerian High Commission has not issued an official statement on the matter.
