GEJ ARRIVES IN KAMPALA TO LEAD AU, COMESA, IGAD ELECTION OBSERVATION MISSION

Former Nigerian President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GEJ) arrived in Kampala early this morning to lead the combined African Union (AU), Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), and Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Election Observation Mission for Uganda’s scheduled January 15 general elections.

Upon arrival, GEJ expressed gratitude to Ugandan officials and staff of the AU and the Nigerian High Commission in Kampala for their warm reception.

He urged the people of Uganda to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and credible electoral process, emphasizing that credible elections are key to consolidating democracy, improving governance across the continent.
