American YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul has expressed sympathy, concern following a road accident involving British heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua – in Ogun State, Nigeria.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Paul wrote: “Life is much more important than boxing. I am praying for the lost lives, AJ, and anyone impacted by today’s unfortunate accident.”
Paul’s message quickly went viral, garnering over 227,000 views within hours, drawing reactions from boxing fans, athletes, and commentators worldwide.
The post comes barely days after their much-publicised bout on December 20, in which Joshua defeated Paul by a sixth-round knockout in a heavyweight clash held in Miami.
Joshua reportedly delivered a dominant performance and broke Paul’s jaw in two places during the fight.
Joshua survived a fatal road accident on Monday that claimed the lives of two people.
According to reports, a black Lexus SUV conveying Joshua and other occupants was involved in a collision with a red Sinotruck.
As of the time of filing this report, no official medical statement has been released.
However, the incident has sparked widespread concern on social media, with Nigerians and boxing fans offering prayers, well-wishes for Joshua and others affected.
