President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break, ahead of his participation in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) Summit in the United Arab Emirates.
The President is attending the summit at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The global event, scheduled to hold in early January in Abu Dhabi, brings together leaders from government, business, and civil society to deliberate on sustainable development and future-focused solutions.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is an annual platform that seeks to mobilize international action on sustainability by linking innovation, finance, human capital to global development goals.
The 2026 edition of the summit has the theme “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” reflecting a focus on practical pathways for advancing sustainable growth and resilience worldwide.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit, according to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga.
