Mcjosnah Group has commenced humanitarian intervention aimed at securing the release of inmates held for minor offences, negligence and alleged wrongful accusations at the Uyo Correctional Centre, Akwa Ibom State.
The intervention is under Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS) initiative of the group tagged “RismadarVoice for the Voiceless” implemented through RismadarVoice Media, a specialized unit within Rismadar Co. Ltd, a subsidiary of the Group.
The initiative focuses on providing legal advocacy, financial assistance and social support to indigent inmates, who remain in custody due to minor fines, prolonged detention, or lack of access to legal representation.
As part of the first phase of the programme, a delegation representing the Chairman of Mcjosnah Group, Pastor Micah Jonah, represented by the Administrative Manager of the Group, Mrs. Esther Godfrey, alongside the Group Secretary, Barrister John Archibong, paid an official visit to the Uyo Correctional Centre.
The delegation was received by the Deputy Superintendent of Corrections, DSC Gideon Eyoren, who provided an official list of inmates in need of legal representation, as well as those eligible for release upon payment of minor fines.

The next phase of the intervention will involve one-on-one engagements with affected inmates, comprehensive legal assessment of their cases and the provision of legal, financial assistance to enable qualified inmates regain their freedom.
The programme also makes provision for post-release reintegration support to help beneficiaries reintegrate into the society, rebuild their lives, contribute meaningfully to national development.
The RismadarVoice for the Voiceless initiative underscores Mcjosnah Group’s commitment to justice, human dignity, and sustainable corporate social responsibility, particularly in expanding access to legal aid for vulnerable persons within Nigeria’s correctional system.
