In a unanimous decision, the Rivers State House of Assembly has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, citing his administration’s contributions to the state and efforts to maintain peace.
The endorsement was made during the House’s 37th Legislative Session on Wednesday, through a motion signed by 26 members and read at plenary by the House Leader, Major Jack (Akuku-Toru).
Lawmakers said the vote of confidence was necessary to ensure continuity of federal projects already initiated under the Tinubu administration.
They also commended the President for his intervention during a recent political crisis in the state, describing his role as a “fatherly intervention” that fostered peace and stability.
The assembly members further lauded Tinubu for appointing notable indigenes of Rivers State to strategic federal positions, a move they said has strengthened ties with the Federal Government and boosted political morale within the state.
Responding, Speaker Martin Amaewhule (Obio/Akpor I) described President Tinubu as a compassionate leader committed to repositioning Nigeria for growth.

He also commended the administration’s strategic economic policies, which he described as impactful and people-oriented.
The lawmakers pledged to mobilize grassroots support for the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ and reaffirmed their loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
