Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has called on political leaders, community stakeholders and residents to work together towards the actualisation of the long-awaited Ibom Deep Seaport project following President Bola Tinubu’s announcement of Federal Government support.
Eno appealed on Sunday during a special thanksgiving service at All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket, Akwa Ibom State.
The governor expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for approving his request concerning the development of the seaport during the President’s visit to the state on Friday, November 6.
He urged stakeholders to put aside their differences and support efforts to ensure that the project moves beyond government announcements to practical implementation.
Eno expressed confidence that the seaport would become a reality, describing it as a major development opportunity for Akwa Ibom, the South-South region and Nigeria.
He said the project could stimulate maritime trade, attract investment, create employment opportunities and support economic growth for future generations.
The governor also appealed for peace and unity across the state, stressing that cooperation among stakeholders would be essential to the project’s successful execution.

The Ibom Deep Seaport, originally conceived during the administration of former Governor Victor Attah, has remained incomplete despite years of government commitments and development proposals.
President Tinubu announced his approval during a political rally at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, following a request by Eno for Federal Government intervention.
However, details of the project’s financing, construction timetable and implementation arrangements have yet to be fully disclosed publicly.
Eno also thanked Akwa Ibom residents for their hospitality and participation during the President’s visit, urging them to sustain the peaceful atmosphere he said contributed to the successful hosting.
Earlier, the General Secretary and Trustee of the Assemblies of God, Nigeria, Rev. Godwin Amaowoh, delivered a sermon titled We Are Well Able, drawing from Numbers 13:30–33.

The cleric encouraged Christians to demonstrate courage, confidence and determination when pursuing their goals.
He also commended the governor’s development initiatives, including the reclamation of an erosion-threatened site and its transformation into a tourism facility.
The thanksgiving service featured prayers and praise sessions, with participants expressing gratitude for the state’s development and the presidential visit.
