Former member of the House of Representatives and Rivers State governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo, has denied reports alleging that he instituted legal proceedings against the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over the party’s governorship primary.
Dagogo described the reports, which circulated on social media, as false and misleading, insisting that he neither initiated nor authorised any lawsuit against the party.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Monday, November 2, the former lawmaker said claims that he challenged the governorship primary in court and subsequently lost the case were unfounded.
He maintained that he had not instructed any legal practitioner to commence proceedings against the ADC or sworn to any affidavit connected with such a case.
Dagogo challenged those circulating the allegations to provide verifiable evidence, including the suit number, name of the court, filing date and identity of the lawyer allegedly representing him.
He also demanded certified true copies of any originating processes, affidavits, judgments or court orders said to have resulted from the purported proceedings.

The former lawmaker warned that the unauthorised use of his name in connection with a court action could raise questions of impersonation, forgery and other unlawful conduct.
According to him, his legal team has been instructed to investigate the origin and circulation of the reports and identify those responsible.
He said appropriate civil remedies and, where justified by evidence, criminal complaints could be pursued against individuals found responsible for unlawful conduct.
The controversy comes amid disagreements over the ADC governorship ticket in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general election.
Following the party’s governorship primaries in May, Dagogo claimed he had secured the nomination.
However, the state executive committee led by Chukwudi Dimkpa maintained that Gabriel Pidomson was the party’s candidate.
Despite the disagreement, Dagogo insisted that he had not taken the party to court over its internal electoral process.

He reaffirmed his commitment to democratic principles, due process and respect for the judiciary, while urging his supporters and political associates to disregard unsubstantiated reports.
The former legislator also appealed to members of the public to avoid circulating allegations without credible documentary evidence.
The existence and reported dismissal of the alleged lawsuit have not been independently established through identifiable court records.
Dagogo maintained that his political activities would continue despite the controversy surrounding the purported legal action.
