The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has marked her third anniversary in the National Assembly with the distribution of laptop computers and other smart devices to selected secondary schools in Kogi State.

The intervention, carried out on Monday, November 2, 2026, was aimed at promoting digital literacy and improving students’ access to modern educational resources.

Her media aide, Mike Idoko, disclosed the development in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday.

The beneficiary institutions include OCSS Oboroke, Adavi Model Secondary School, Adavi Eba, and Community Secondary School, Obangede.

Speaking during the presentations, Akpoti-Uduaghan described education as an important investment in the future of young Nigerians, stressing that access to technology could improve learning opportunities and encourage innovation.

She said the donation formed part of her commitment to educational development, youth empowerment and constituency representation.

The lawmaker urged students to use the devices responsibly, acquire digital skills and remain committed to their academic pursuits.

She also appealed to teachers and school administrators to ensure that the equipment was properly maintained and used primarily for educational activities.

Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was sworn into the Senate on November 2, 2023, said her constituency initiatives extended beyond education to healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture and economic empowerment.

She highlighted her legislative advocacy for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Ihima through Senate Bill 521, which seeks to improve access to specialist healthcare services in Kogi Central and neighbouring communities.

The senator also identified road development, potable water, solar-powered infrastructure, school facilities and skills acquisition as areas of her constituency engagement.

At Community Secondary School, Obangede, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Dr Shehu Sule, commended the donation, saying the equipment would support teaching and expose students to broader educational opportunities.

Sule also described the senator’s activities as an encouragement to young people, particularly girls interested in leadership and public service.

He called for sustained collaboration between the school and the lawmaker to strengthen educational development.

The institution subsequently presented an award to Akpoti-Uduaghan in recognition of her contributions to education and youth development.

The senator reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives intended to improve learning opportunities and the welfare of communities across Kogi Central.
