President Bola Tinubu has prayed for Nigeria’s ethnic, religious and cultural diversity to become a source of national prosperity, peace and sustainable development.

The President offered the prayer on Sunday during a dinner hosted for members of his delegation in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where he had travelled to perform the Umrah pilgrimage.

According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu urged Nigerians to embrace mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence and collective responsibility for national development.

“May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” the President said.

He also prayed for lasting peace and harmony, asking Allah to grant the nation’s leaders wisdom, courage and foresight to make decisions that would improve citizens’ living conditions.

Tinubu maintained that Nigeria’s abundant human and natural resources, alongside the creativity, talents and enterprise of its people, provided opportunities for economic growth and inclusive development.

He encouraged citizens of different religious and ethnic backgrounds to work together in the national interest, stressing the importance of patriotism, compassion and service.

Speaking at the gathering, Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, pledged continued support for the President and his administration.

Rabiu said the delegation had used the pilgrimage to offer prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity and prosperity.

He also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to undertake the spiritual journey, including entering the Kaaba to pray.

Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commended Tinubu’s commitment to national development and prayed for divine guidance in his leadership.

Similarly, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, prayed for the President to receive the strength and wisdom required to deliver justice and good governance to Nigerians.

Tinubu had performed Umrah at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday, October 30, where he also offered prayers for Nigeria’s peace, stability and progress.

The dinner was attended by Governors Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Mohammed Namadi of Jigawa, Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto and Babagana Zulum of Borno.

Other attendees included Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Mohammed Ali Pate, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Oando Chief Executive Officer Wale Tinubu, presidential political adviser Ibrahim Masari and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
