At least four Palestinians, including a married couple and a 17-year-old boy, have been killed in separate Israeli airstrikes and shooting incidents across the Gaza Strip, raising fresh concerns about the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Palestinian medical officials confirmed that an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday struck a residential apartment in Gaza City, killing Akram Yassin and his wife, Dina Abu Baker.
The Israeli military subsequently claimed that Yassin was a senior official in Hamas’s general security apparatus, which it said was responsible for protecting senior members of the Palestinian group.
The military did not provide further details about the circumstances of the attack or the death of Yassin’s wife.
In southern Gaza, medical personnel reported that a 17-year-old boy was killed by Israeli gunfire near the Qizan al-Najjar neighbourhood of Khan Younis.
Another Palestinian was reportedly shot dead in the Zeitoun neighbourhood, east of Gaza City, bringing the number of people killed in Tuesday’s incidents to at least four.

The Israeli military had not immediately commented on the two shooting incidents.
Residents also reported continued military activity in parts of Gaza, including artillery fire in areas south of Khan Younis.
Following the Gaza City airstrike, relatives and mourners gathered for the funeral of the couple, while residents inspected the damage to the affected apartment.
Mahmoud Yassin, a relative of one of the victims, expressed frustration over the continuing violence despite the ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025.
The latest fatalities come amid renewed accusations between Israel and Hamas over alleged violations of the United States-brokered agreement.
Israel maintains that Hamas has been rebuilding its military capabilities and carrying out activities that violate the ceasefire.
Hamas denies the allegations and accuses Israel of undermining the agreement through continued attacks and restrictions.
According to Gaza’s health authorities, more than 1,500 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since the ceasefire took effect.
Israeli authorities have reported that four Israeli soldiers were killed by militants in Gaza during the same period.

The wider conflict, which began in October 2023, has caused extensive destruction across Gaza and displaced large sections of its population.
Gaza health authorities report that more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed since the war began, while humanitarian agencies continue to warn of severe challenges involving housing, healthcare and access to essential supplies.
Despite international efforts to sustain the ceasefire, disagreements over disarmament, Israeli military withdrawal and reconstruction have delayed progress towards a lasting settlement.
Tuesday’s killings have renewed concerns over civilian protection and the prospects for maintaining the agreement.
